Voice of the Sheep

bleatings of an amateur reformational credobaptistic theologian

  • To the Shepherd

But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise. - Ps. 79:13

WHY AM I DOING THIS?: As much as an amateur blogger and theologian can do this...I want to make you think. I want you to know what you believe and why you believe it. And I want you to believe what you do - not because Mommy and Daddy believed it - but because it is the truth as contained in the Scriptures. I pray that God will use this blog and the resources and links provided here to grow its readers (including me) in the grace and knowledge of Christ. I pray this knowledge will result in a life of obedience that flows - not from fear or a desire to gain God's favor - but from a gratitude of knowing the truth about Who your Creator is, and what your Creator has done for you.

A Prayer Among Brothers

Posted by Brian Thornton on December 8, 2007

We beg in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that there be no divisions among us, but that we may be perfectly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment.

Now the God of patience and consolation grant us to be like-minded one towards another, according to Christ Jesus, that we may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and promote the common salvation.

Lord, keep us from judging one another, and despising one another, and give us to follow after things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another; that living in love and peace, the God of love and peace may be with us.

Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory, but every thing in lowliness of mind, and grant that our moderation may be known unto all men, because the Lord is at hand.
